SSFA – First International Schoolboy Trial

Since September 2019, Local Association teams have been contesting the SSFA Senior National Trophy at the Group Stage. The competition has reached the quarter final stage which is posted below.

In attendance at most of these cup games have been SSFA selectors assessing the suitability of players to attend the Regional Trial stage.SSFA International Team Secretary, Les Donaldson MBE has been extremely busy.

The first trial took place yesterday, 27 th November at the Toryglen Indoor Football Centre in Glasgow with the second trial schedule for the same venue on Wednesday 4th December between 4.00 – 6.00pm

A final trial involving approximately 30 players will then take place at Toryglen on Wednesday 11 th December from 3.00 pm.

The trial on 27th November was of a high standard and involved 28 players. This included boys from Aberdeen, Dundee, Fife and the central belt area.

The trial next Wednesday will see players from the central belt area, from Ayrshire and from Dumfries and Galloway get their chance to catch the selector’s eye.

When these two trials are considered approximately 30 players will be viewed on the 11th December for the final selection.

Exciting times for the players hopeful of gaining international Schoolboy recognition.
