Season 2002-2003

With no schools’ football being played at present, and for the forseeable future, here’s a look back at schools’ football in season 2002-2003.

Please note age grouping were moved forward a year in 2002s therefore our Under 12 Shield became the Under 13 Shield etc.

Shield and cup competitions provided the opportunity for well over 800 teams in the various age groups to experience the enjoyment of competing to try to reach national finals.

We enjoy the cooperation of various clubs and organisations to stage finals at Hampden Park, Kilmarnock, Livingston, Ross County, Johnstone Burgh, Warout Stadium, Linlithgow Rose, Petershill Juniors, Shotts Bon Accord and Kinnoul Juniors.

Craigmount High won the Senior Shield, beating St Ambrose High 1-0 at Hampden Park.

St Augustine’s High won the Girls’ Senior Shield for the second year in a row, beating Carnoustie High 3-1 in the final at Warout Stadium.

St Aidan’s High beat Renfrew High 3-1 at Shotts Bon Accord to lift the Under 16 Shield. Oban High beat Peterhead Academy 3-1 to win the Under 15 Shield. Perth High beat St Mungo’s High 3-0 on penalties after a 1-1 dwar in the final at Livingston. Our Lady & St Patrick’s High beat Holyrood Secondary 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the final at Petershill. St Machar Academy beat St Columba’s High 1-0 in the Under 13 final at Warout Stadium.
