Preston Lodge High School beat St. Marice’s High School 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw to lift the Under 15 Shield for the first time on Wednesday afternoon at the Excelsior Stadium.
The final was the last game in the 2020 Under 15 Shield. A competition that started in September 2019 and was suspended , at semi-final stage, in March 2020 due to the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
In the semi-finals Preston Lodge High beat Notre Dame High 3-1 and St. Maurice’s High beat St. John’s High 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Preston Lodge High School’s path to the final:
- 1st round – September 2019 – 2-0 win over Stewart’s Melville College away
- 2nd round – October 2019 – 5-1 win over Currie High School away
- 3rd round – November 2019 – 6-1 win over Levenmouth Academy at home
- 4th round – December 2019 – 4-1 win over Broughton High at home
- 5th round – January 2020 – 2-1 win over Duncanrig Secondary away
- Semi-final May 2021 – 3-1 win over Notre Dame High at Broxburn
St. Maurice’s High’s path to the final:
- 1st round – September 2019 – 9-4 win over Balfron High away
- 2nd round – October 2019 – 2-0 win over Dunblane High at home
- 3rd round – November 2019 – 6-4 win over Newbattle High away
- 4th round – December 2019 – 5-4 win over Strathaven Academy at home
- 5th round – January 2020 – 6-2 win over Wallace High away
- Semi-final – May 2021 – 5-4 win on penalties (afer 1-1) at Airdrieonians
