It is with great reluctance that the SSFA has decided that the staging of the two National Trophy Finals for season 2019 – 20 at both under 15 and Senior level, cannot take place. Covid 19 restrictions mean that the final games cannot be staged.
We were hopeful that the later stages of the National Shield and National Trophy for season 2019 – 20 would be, if possible, staged when circumstances allowed. However the additional difficulties of staging finals between competing representative Local Association teams were considered as insurmountable.
The result has been that the National Trophy, at 15s and Senior age levels, will be shared by the two teams who had won through to what would have been in each case a huge final game.
At Under 15 level the teams who will share the trophy will be Dundee Schools’ FA and Forth Valley SFA. Dundee won their way to the final with a 3-2 win against North of Scotland SFA in their semi final. Forth Valley defeated Aberdeen SSFA at Indodrill Stadium, Alloa. A competitive final was guaranteed but unfortunately cannot take place due to Covid 19 restrictions.

At Senior level the Fife Schools’ FA were victorious over Forth Valley SFA in their semi final game at Stark’s Park, Kirkcaldy while at Toryglen, Glasgow it was the home team, Glasgow SFA, who edged through in a tight game against Lothian SFA. Unfortunately this game cannot be staged and the trophy will also be shared by the two finalists.

Unfortunately there is no picture availble for Glasgow Schools Senior team.
