Kilmarnock Academy win Girls’ Under 14 7s Finals

The first of the season 2019 – 20 SSFA’s competitions took place on Friday 6th December when nine teams from all over the country came together at Toryglen Regional Indoor Football Centre for an afternoon of football for 90 young players.

The teams, who had all qualified from country wide local rounds, were Kilmarnock Academy, St Ninian’s HS, Giffnock, Gryffe HS, St Ambrose HS, Lochside Academy, Grove Academy, Boroughmuir HS, Lasswade HS and Lornshill Academy.

Each team played four short games and most were closely contested.

In what proved to be a deciding fixture Kilmarnock Academy and St Ambrose couldn’t be separated and played out a 0-0 draw. Previous results saw Kilmarnock win top spot on Goals Scored.

Well done to all the players who displayed both good ability and a great sporting attitude. The referees had little to do but their important involvement was greatly appreciated by everyone.

A similar event for under 15 players will take place after Christmas.
