The process of selecting International Boys and Girls squads for the Centenary Shield 2024 and Bob Doc 2024 is under way.
The Under 18 Boys squad is selected by a combination of selectors observing Inter-Association National Trophy games and regional trials before final trials in early December.
Here are the dates for the regional trials:
Thursday 23 November- Whitton Park, Broughty Ferry – North, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Dundee, Angus and Perth & Kinross
Wednesday 29 November – Ochilview Park, Stenhousemuir – Fife, Lothian, West Lothian, Forth Valley and Lanarkshire.
Wednesday 6 December – Toryglen, Glasgow – Paisley, Ayrshire, Glasgow and Dumfries & Galloway.
Thursday 14 December – Toryglen, Glasgow – First International Trial
Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd December – Toryglen, Glasgow – Final Trial.
The boys taking part have already been nominated by their schools for selection for their association squad or by their clubs.
The Under 15s Girls squad has a different process for selection from the boys.
Schools nominate girls for one of the six regional squads:
North, East, South-East, Central, West, South-West.
Then the Inter-Regional Competition take place.
Thursday 30 November – Bayview Stadium, Methil – EAST SECTION – North, East, South-East regional squads
Monday 4 December – Toryglen, Glasgow – WEST SECTION –West, Central, South-West regional squads
Wednesday 13 December – Toryglen, Glasgow – CROSSOVER FINALS – The winner of the EAST SECTION will play the winner of the WEST SECTION to decide the winners of the Inter-Regional Competition. Second will play second and third will play third. Immediately after the competition girls will be selected for the final trial.
Monday 18 December – Toryglen, Glasgow – Final Trial.
As with the boys, girls taking part have already been nominated by their schools for selection for their regional squad or by their clubs.
