Grange Academy 2 Craigmount High 1

Two first half goals by Grange Academy, against Craigmount High School, were enough for the Ayrshire side to clinch a place in the Under 14 Plate Final at a rain-soaked Duncansfield Park on Thurdsay night.

Despite heavy rain falling all day, the playing surface for the SSFA under 14 Plate semi final between Grange Academy, Kilmarnock and Craigmount HS , Edinburgh at Duncansfield Park, Kilsyth was in perfect condition.

In a well contested game it was Grange Academy who secured their place in the final with a narrow 2-1 win.

The game started at a fantastic pace and it was the Ayrshire side who struck first in only the second minute of the game. It was Jamie Douglas who cut in from the left and powered his shot past the Craigmount keeper.

Worse was to come the way of the Edinburgh side only a minute later when Charlie Scullion netted from ten yards out driving across the goal from the right hand side.

Craigmount quickly gathered themselves and had hit the post with an effort before Adams Ross flicked home a free kick from ten yards out.
