The Scottish Schools Girls international squad for 2019 gathered for the last time together at Hamden Park on Tuesday 30th April when they received their cap for representing the SSFA at under 15 level.

The large number of parents, grandparents, family members and friends who attended thoroughly enjoyed the event which allowed everyone to celebrate the excellent job that the players did as superb ambassadors for Scottish football.
Past president Stewart Taylor led the players to their seats.

International team secretary Les Donaldson welcomed parents, friends and sponsors and said a few words about what a great group of players and young woman this year’s squad were.

Team Coach, Mr David Thomson introduced the support team of Jim Bettley, Amanda Allan and physio Kirsty Hendry. Unfortunately GK Coach Mark Grant could not attend the evening due to school commitments.

David thanked both the girls and their parents for their great contribution over the past four months and in particular their great support in Salou. He reflected on some great football played and the great teamwork of the girls.
Next David presented his captain Jess and vice-captains Maria and Eilidh with tokens to mark their year with the SSFA.

Next David presented the girls with their caps.

After the formal presentation players and their families moved outside to have a photo opportunity on the touchline of the world famous Hampden Park.

Fond farewells followed with assurances that the players will keep in touch with each other and coaches in the years to come no matter where their careers take them.
Thanks for a great year girls. All the best for your educational and football next steps.
