Forth Valley Under 15’s Make a Winning Start

Forth Valley U15’s made their first appearance in this season’s SSFA National Trophy with a visit to Blackburn Juniors to play West Lothian SFA and secured a good 4 – 2 winning start with a very steady performance.

In perfect condition the visitors started well and Jamie Lapsley (Larbert HS) had an early chance which the home keeper blocked coming off his line.

Jack McAllister (Alloa Acad) did however make the visitors early pressure tell when he slotted home with a neat finish after 20 minutes.

West Lothian however showed great determination and took control of the game. They equalised after uncertainty in the visitors defence and the score was 1 -1 as half time arrived.

Forth Valley managed to wrestle back control in the game and McAllister netted a second goal to put Forth Valley in front.

Sam Metcalfe (Wallace HS) had been introduced at half time and he helped set up the second goal before scoring the third himself with some neat footwork and an excellent strike. The substitute certainly made a difference to the outcome of the game.

West Lothian plugged away and scored a second with 25 minutes to go, setting up a tense finish to a sporting match.

It was Aaron Isaacs (McLaren HS ) who showed great composure to lob the ball over the outrushing home team keeper to give Forth Valley a two goal lead once more.

The visitors held on to this until the final whistle in a game well refereed and played in good fashion.

Forth Valley now play at home against Lanarkshire SFA in a game later in November to try to secure their place in the quarter final knock out stage.
