Win at West Lothian sets up a decider against Lanarkshire.
Following a narrow 3 -2 home defeat to the Scottish Independent Schools side in September, Forth Valley seniors knew that only a win against West Lothian SFA would keep their qualification hopes alive.
On Wednesday 31st October at Blackburn Juniors the team produced a great performance and unfortunately for the home team it was a bit of a Halloween Horror Show.
The visitors started very well and took an early lead with a great finish from Tiwi Daramola ( St Mungo’s HS , Falkirk). An accurate low shot beat the keeper Adam Meek to give Forth Valley the perfect start.
The same player repeated the dose only minutes later with a replica of his first score.
Then Lucas Williamson (Wallace HS) cut inside before firing home from 18 yards to make it 3-0.
West Lothian hit back when Cameron Walker’s well hit shot was deflected past Forth Valley keeper Cameron Taylor ( Wallace HS).
Before half time Forth Valley firstly restored their two goal lead when Wilson Romanis ( Graeme HS) netted from close in after great play by Williamson but West Lothian’s Gregor Morgan hit home with a superbly struck shot.
Half time: West Lothian 2 Forth Valley 4
The next goal was vital and it came the way of Forth Valley when Daramola made another good finish.
He added his fourth goal not much later before being subbed off after an excellent performance.
With multiple subs and confidence high Forth Valley added more goals from Steven Buchanan ( MacLaren HS) with two and Joseph McGlynn ( St Mungo’s HS) with another.
West Lothian never gave up but found Forth Valley in irresistible form in a game that was very sporting from start to finish and so easily handled by competent match officials.
Forth Valley now know that they must also win their third and final group stage game against Lanarkshire SFA in a game organised for Wednesday 14th November at 2.00pm at Ochilview, Stenhousemuir.
