Forth Valley League Play Off Finals

This season’s Forth Valley League Play Off finals continued today , Tuesday March 5th, at Ochilview Park Stenhousemuir with the under 15 age group matches for both boys and girls.

The first game, watched by almost 200 spectators saw Wallace HS best Dunblane HS 3-1 in an entertaining game.

Wallace got off a flyer and Kobi Mitchell had his side in front after only four minutes.

Dunblane rallied after their shaky start and a competitive game developed.

Wallace went two up just before the half hour mark when Max McHale’s driven cross was turned in to his own net by the unfortunate Dunblane defender.

When Mitchell scored again after ten minutes of the second half it looked all over but Dunblane kept plugging away.

When Boston Sinclair netted a rebounded shot with just over five minutes to go Dunblane showed they believed they could make a comeback. They hit the bar but Wallace wrestled back control to lift the league title.

The under 15 girls game followed with Alva Academy making a welcome return to the FV schools scene with a well earned place in the play off final.

Opponents, Larbert High School however proved to be too strong opponents and won the seven a side final in comfortable fashion. There was a high level of skill on display from both teams in a sporting final.

The next play off date for the FV league title games is Tuesday 26th March when both the under 14 boys 1.00 pm and Senior boys 2.15 pm will be decided again at Ochilview.
