At the invitation of CISS ( Confucius Institute for Scottish Schools) the Scottish Schools’ Football Association have become the first “Specialist” hub related to Scotland’s national sport.
There are other hubs for Science – Edinburgh Zoo, Music – Royal Conservatoire and Opera – RSO.
The SSFA hub will be based at Gryffe High School and on the 7th of November, the official launch, the school produced a day of Scottish and Chinese cultural activities as a showcase to what lies ahead.
The day began with a Futsal competition then the Chinese activity “Jianzi” (a kind of keepie – uppy), followed by a Music, Art, Dance and Drama event which had a Chinese theme. The stage performances and the decoration throughout the school wowed the guests attending this launch.
With no other hub as a template Gryffe High starts with a blank canvass and are looking forward to connecting with CISS and China as well as involving the school in two-way cultural links.
This project offers for mutual cultural collaboration. We look forward to what lies ahead.
