Holyrood Secondary School

Liam attends Holyrood High School in Glasgow and is proud to be one of the pupils selected to attend this SFA Performance school. He plays at Queen’s Park FC and is currently involved in training with the first team.

His ambition is to secure a first team contract.

Liam enjoys playing golf and a possible career from him might be joinery

Matthew Wallace
Linlithgow Academy

Matthew is a pupil at Linlithgow Academy and is currently playing at youth level at Motherwell FC.

Like most of his team mates he hopes for a career in professional football, but has an eye on Sports Development as an alternative. He has already started his SFA Coach qualification pathway on a 1.3 level coaching course.

Matthew has a reputation as a good golfer winning a Junior Championship at his local golf club.

Deadly from the spot, Matthew has a perfect 9-9 competitive penalty kick cv.
Scotland hopes if called upon he can keep the spot kicks out!

John Binnie
Braes High School

John is a pupil at Braes High School outside Falkirk. He plays his football at local club Alloa Athletic FC and would like to play the game at the highest level.

He is keen on the idea of coaching sport and once took part in a TV programme with tennis icon Judy Murray on developing tennis across the country.

John aims to be a number 1 seed in the Scottish Centenary Shield bid this season.

Dumfries Academy

Jay attends Dumfries Academy and is playing for Queen of the South FC at both u 18 and Reserve team level.

A very versatile player Jay also coaches youngsters in the game. He would like to be a professional footballer or a PE Teacher

Gavin Hamilton
Wallace High School

Gavin is a pupil at Wallace High School, Stirling and attends a school that sits under the view of William Wallace every day. What an inspiration. He plays for Alloa Athletic FC and is hopeful of a career in professional football.

Gavin has already achieved a number of Higher passes and has former school pupils Gary and Steven Caldwell and current rugby star Finn Russell to provide even more inspiration.

Bailey Klimionek
Liberton High School

Bayley is a pupil at Liberton High School and plays his football at St. Johnstone FC.

He hopes to play professional football at first team level but has an idea of accountancy as a back -up career.

Bayley works part time at a golf driving range and likes watching sport of all kinds. He loves a photo and has been pictured with some sporting stars such as Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Amir Khan.

He has seen an El Classico match live in Spain and would love a picture of himself holding aloft the Centenary Shield.

Jonathan Steel
James Gillespie’s High School

Jonathan is a pupil at James Gillespie’s High School in Edinburgh. He currently plays his football at the well renowned Tynecastle F.C.

Jonathan aims to play at a higher level in the game but also hopes to study Economics and Business at University.

He keeps busy working as a part time waiter or playing golf and working out in the gym.

Millburn Academy

Matthew is a pupil at Millburn Academy, Inverness, Matthew has been successfully involved with the Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC youth system for a number of years.

He hopes for a career in professional football.

Matthew has a part time job in a supermarket – not just any supermarket but ….

He used to play a bit of basketball but now concentrates on defending a bigger goal and playing area.

Harry attends Mearns Castle High School and plays his football at Greenock Morton where he is involved in both u18 and Reserve Team football.

He hopes for a career in professional football, if not a job as a Quantity Surveyor or in Finance interests him.

Harry enjoys golf, gym work and music when relaxing.He has a part time job in hospitality at Ibrox Stadium, home of Rangers FC but is fan of Celtic FC.

Michael Beagley
St Margaret’s Academy

Michael is a pupil at St Margaret’s Academy in Livingston. Formerly at Heart of Midlothian FC he is currently working his way back in to football at Broxburn Juniors FC following a bout of Covid 19.

An extremely gifted performer, Michael will be hoping to make a big impact for the SSFA team.

Oliver Brander
Grove Academy

Ollie attends a Dundee school , Grove Academy. He is keen on Engineering and is interested in pursuing a ‘soccer scholarship’ in a suitably highly rated American College that would allow him to fulfil that ambition.

Ollie plays with Downfield Juniors FC and also does part time work at a watersports company in Dundee.

He plays guitar, bass and ukulele and would love to lead his team in a Centenary Shield winning celebration sing song.

Lewis attends Dumfries High School and is playing his football at his local club, Queen of the South.

He is keen to break through in to first team football within the next two years and he recently joined the first team squad.

Broughton High School

Ben attends Broughton High School, Edinburgh – another of the SFA Performance schools. He was at Hibernian FC for many years but has now moved to Spartans FC.

He would like a career in professional football but has not yet considered an alternative profession.

He works part time and enjoys a game of golf. Ben is eligible through birth to play for Germany but will hopefully come through wearing the navy blue of Scotland.

Harris Academy

Lewis is another player in our squad who hails from Dundee. His school is Harris Academy.

He has a long association with his local club Dundee FC and hopes to play someday in their first team.

He is a keen pool and snooker player and can hopefully sink a few shots in the upcoming internationals.

Inverness College

Kenny attends Inverness College where he is studying on an Engineering course.

He is in a successful youth set up at his local club Inverness Caledonian Thistle and hopes for a full time contract this summer.

Kenny works in a local super store as well – not the same one as Matthew. He claims to be not just a good golfer but a GREAT golfer !!

Rayan Mohammed
James Gillespie’s High School

Rayan is a pupil at James Gillespie’s High School, Edinburgh. Along with his school mates their team reached the Scottish Schools Shield semi final in 2019 but due to Covid 19 the competition was cancelled.

He plays at the renowned boys club Hutchison Vale and like all of his team mates would love a career in professional football.

He enjoys gaming and keeping fit – which is just as well as he has apparently a great capacity for eating food!

James Young High School

Lucas goes to James Young High School, Livingston for his education. He plays for Livingston FCBC 05’s and would love the opportunity to earn a professional contract in the future.

Lucas has played rugby and is still keen on gymnastics hence his interest in becoming a PE Teacher .

He also has an interest in Engineering. To relax Lucas has a strong interest in cinema. His team mates will be hoping he can come up with a few Oscar winning performances.
