Last night Alistair MacPherson hosted a dinner at the Normandy Hotel, Renfrew to celebrate his 60 years in schools football.
Alistair started teaching Mathematics at Camphill Secondary, Paisley before moving onto Linwood High, Johnstone High and finally Renfrew High where he was appointed Head Teacher in 1974.
Alistair was the treasurer for Paisley & District Schools FA and a Council Member for Scottish Schools FA during his time in schools football. He was the controller for the SSFA Under 16 Shield for many years and assisted in organising many 7 a side competitions.
Alistair, now in his 80s, is still actively involved in schools football and recently attended our boys international Centenary Shield match against England in Inverurie.
